Straight Talk About Your Pets Health
Health Facts Even if your pet seems perfectly healthy, regular check-ups throughout life are important to manage many of the changes that come with aging. Dogs and cats over 49 years (7 people years) of age should come in twice a year to see Dr. Bergeron.
A complete health maintenance program can provide a means to target age-related health problems. We take holistic and preventative health care measures, and detect any disorders early enough to provide appropriate medical treatment.
Pets can be the most rewarding when they reach their golden years; they know you, have a special routine and have spent years as your best friend. A few simple tips and a watchful eye can maintain the health of your aging pet well into their senior years, providing a golden time for you both. |
Rule of Thumb:
- A cat is generally a senior around 7 years old
- A dog is generally a senior at 6-7 years old
Our holistic approach will help you to ensure your “little ones” grow strong, healthy and happy; but you, as the pet owner, play the major role in preventive medicine for your pet by being responsible and using good common sense. We will help you provide proper diet and nutrition, peace and restful sleep and lots of love and attention.
A healthy diet, exercise and sound medical advice can greatly extend your pets health and provide both of you with many more years of love and friendship.
Proper physical and behavioral supervision will insure the well-being of your pet, and your peace of mind. It is important to keep your pet on an enforced exercise program without over working them. There are many different ways to do so:
- Frequent walks or runs
- Playing Frisbee or fetch
- Swimming
